Polynesian tattoo art

When I first got in to the field of tattooing, I had no idea what Polynesian tattoo art was. It was much later that I discovered it is a branch of the Tribal style. Thus, it has a unique characterister: bold black abstracts or figurative designs.

In reality, there are more than one Polynesian styles: Hawaiian, Maori, Samoan, Marquesan, Tahitian, … In fact, each Polynesian island has its style that’s different from their neighbors.

For people who wants a Polynesian character tattoo: the only Polynesian script that’s still available now is the Easter Island Rongo-Rongo. However, it still have not yet been deciphered fully. Still, if you want, you can still write letters/characters in Polynesian style!
